#Pinakbet with 3 month wild-fermented beancurd (#豆腐乳) 🥒🥔 Credit to @kirstenkshockey for her wonderful fermentation book from which I made the fermented beancurd from. I was thinking of what to substitute #bagoong (fermented shrimp/fish - an essential ingredient in Pinakbet ) with and found the jar sitting in the fridge. When I blended it with tomatoes, the salmon pink hue and funky smell is rather similar to bagoong. ⠀

Pinakbet is a colourful Filipino vegetable stew that is easier than it looks. The hardest part is probably cutting the ingredients, then everything gets layered and cooked in one pot.⠀

It seems insensitive to write about anything but coronavirus outbreak nowadays. As we seek normalcy amid calamity, #GoldenMilk, the modern name for #HaldiDoodh used since ages in Ayurvedic medicine, will help bring mind-body comfort during discomforting times. The goldmine in #turmeric is #curcumin, which has anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, and anti-bacterial properties among others. As curcumin is fat-soluble and synergistic with piperine, be sure to simmer your #GoldenMilk in a healthy fat such as coconut milk and a pinch of black pepper. The homemade spice blend makes it convenient and likely to drink more often .

🌼Golden Milk Spices🌼
2 tbsp turmeric powder
2 tbsp ginger powder
1 tbsp ceylon cinnamon powder
3/4 tsp green cardamom powder
1/2 tsp black pepper powder

Mix spices together and store in an airtight jar away from heat and light. Use 1/2-1 teaspoon powder per 1 cup milk of choice (I like half water, half coconut milk). Simmer on low heat for 3-4 minutes. Strain into glass. Sweeten to taste with raw honey or your favourite sweetener.

Raw ✟cross✟ buns with cashew "flour cross". Improved recipe from last year to include shredded apple. Along with dried fruit, almond, oat, psyllium husk, and flax, texture now is more fluffy and less dense

When it comes to the cross, there are two ways. Flour cross is piped onto bun before baking or dehydrating and is set into the bun. Icing cross is piped onto bun after baking. I prefer the traditional look of flour cross and is easier to handle (no sticky fingers)
